 Норден 2016 - совместный выпуск почтовых администраций скандинавских стран входящих в Северный совет. Почтовые выпуски скандинавских стран из серии Норден 2016 посвященные культуре скандинавской еды. Одной из главных особенностей скандинавской кухни является здоровая и полезная пища. Фарерские острова расположены в северной части Атлантического океана, океан всегда служил основным источником пищи для жителей этих островов. Также жители Фарерских островов в большом количестве разводят овец, поэтому баранина является основой для многих местных блюд. На почтовой марке Фарерских островов изображен “hjallur” - флигель, кладовая, сушильный сарай, продуваемый ветром круглый год, который служит для сушки и хранения пищи.
