Трезубец (вариант - Тризуб) – украинский национальный символ, современный государственный герб Украины в форме золотого трезубца особой формы на синем поле; в прошлом – герб князей Рюриковичей и Киевской Руси. О происхождении и значении украинского герба Тризуба существуют различные теории, ни одна из них не является общепризнанной, но можно выделить несколько наиболее обоснованных теорий - это трактовка Тризуба как стилизованного изображения или сокола, или якоря-креста. После восстановления украинской национальной государственности Верховная Рада Украины своим постановлением «О государственном гербе Украины» от 19 февраля 1992 года утвердила Тризуб как Малый герб Украины, считая его главным элементом Большого герба Украины. Тризуб стал официальной эмблемой нашего государства. В настоящее время по Конституции Украины, принятой 28 июня 1996 года, главным элементом большого Государственного Герба Украины является Знак Княжеского Государства Владимира Великого (Тризуб) – малый Государственный Герб Украины.

The trident has become the official emblem of our state. At present, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, adopted on June 28, 1996, the main element of the large State Emblem of Ukraine is the Sign of the Princely State of Volodymyr the Great (Trident) - the small State Emblem of Ukraine.
