Севастополь - город, расположен на юго-западе Крымского полуострова, на побережье Чёрного моря. Незамерзающий морской торговый и рыбный порт, промышленный, научно-технический, рекреационный и культурно-исторический центр. Один из 27 административных регионов Украины. Севастополь является регионом Украины - городом со специальным статусом, административной единицей первого уровня (наряду со столицей страны - Киевом). Площадь города 1079,6 км². Население 344 853 жителей. Город Севастополь входит в список исторических населённых мест Украины. Государственная принадлежность территории Севастополя является предметом разногласий между Россией, контролирующей спорную территорию, и Украиной, территорией которой он признаётся большинством государств - членов ООН.
